Thin Lizzy Album Ranking

Thin Lizzy are my Sunday morning band. They’re not too heavy, they’ve still got some kick. The guitar tone is usually very satisfying and they just make you bop your head.

My dad knew Phil Lynott when he was a kid (when my Dad was a kid) through a friend’s older brother which has no real bearing on anything but I always found that super cool when I was a kid and he told me.

I’ve never really considered them to be one of my favourite bands but I think when it comes to it they probably are. I always have a good time listening to them. As I type this I’m listening to Black Rose whilst sitting in a comfy arm chair and it’s definitely a happy place. I’d also like to add that even the albums lower on this list are still pretty good. I don’t think they have any bad albums.

Outside of this, Dancing in the Moonlight from Bad Reputation is on my list of all time favourite songs, it just makes me smile. Revisiting all these albums to rank them has been an absolute blast. So without further rambling, here is my ranking of their studio albums:

12 Vagabonds of the Western World

11 Thin Lizzy

10 Renegade

9 Shades of a Blue Orphanage

8 Nightlife

7 Fighting

6 Johnny the Fox

5 Thunder and Lightning

4 Chinatown

3 Black Rose

2 Jailbreak

1 Bad Reputation

And there we are. My personal ranking.
