Weekly update 4
Well that was a week. Quite a few ups and downs but that’s life isn’t it. Had some disappointing news regarding work. Everything is okay in the grand scheme of things, just stuff that will make my life more difficult in the short term at least. Alas I will be off for 6 or 7 weeks soon and things might look very different again by the time I return so there’s not really any point in stressing. Just got to make it through these next two weeks, one of which I’m only working a couple of days.
That’s because I’m currently on day 1 of a 5 day weekend and the timing couldn’t be better. I’d usually have a beer at this stage but as I’m currently not drinking alcohol I’ve settled for a milkshake and a big bag of cookies. Not the healthiest replacement but enjoyable nonetheless. As I type this I’m currently chilling out and watching my wife play Pokopia, the new Pokémon game. It’s very chill, especially the music so I like having it on. We’ve also been playing a bunch of Leaf Green which is a nice nostalgia trip.
I also finished my piece of the upcoming second edition of the Swampgas zine which will be out soon. I’ve used my digital real estate to shout out and preview some upcoming albums that I hope people will check out, there’s some good stuff in there. Aside from my page there will be art and poetry and writing from some really cool and talented people.
This week I also changed the domain for this blog to hailsandales.com. I’m happy with the deal I got on it so that’s set for a good few years. Also on top of this I changed my Bear blog subscription to a yearly one so it feels good to have that in place for the foreseeable. Maybe I’ll do a lifetime one at some point.
Other than that we’re just waiting for our baby to be born. Exciting and life changing.
